About us
The
Disabled Living Foundation provides free, impartial advice
about all types of disability product and disabled equipment
for older and disabled people, their carers and families.
From stairlifts to walk-in baths, jar openers to tap turners,
bath seats to walking sticks, wheelchairs to scooters,
hoists to beds, the DLF can help you find disabled equipment
solutions that enable you to stay active and independent.

Our services
- A Helpline service that responds to up to 25,000 telephone, letter and email enquiries about disability equipment and suppliers every year
- One of the largest Equipment Demonstration Centres in the country, with over 1,000 items of equipment
- Free factsheets giving advice on a wide range of topics about disability aids, mobility products and choosing equipment for older and disabled people
- AskSARA, an online tool that allows you to carry out a self assessment to see what disabled accessories can help you
- 'Bathing made easy', a comprehensive search and comparison website containing advice and information on bathing and showering products for older and disabled people
- DLF Data, the UK's only comprehensive and up-to-date database of disability equipment
- An extensive Training Programme aimed at healthcare professionals such as occupational therapists, moving and handling specialists, physiotherapists and nurses
- An annual Moving & Handling People event , a CPD-accredited event in three parts - conference, practical workshops and exhibition
- EASTIN, an information portal containing information on products available in six European countries
Our partners
The Disabled Living Foundation is a member of the Telephone Helplines Association, the International Alliance of Assistive Technology Information Providers and the CPD Certification Service.
The DLF is also a partner in the TATE
Project, working to make our self assessment tool, AskSARA,
easier to use for people with learning disabilities.
