Potentially millions more people in the UK could live independently and safely at home if they had the right equipment to assist in daily living. That is what people want, but currently awareness of equipment that can help is low and there are not enough trained staff to provide assessment and information. This has driven Foundations and the Disabled Living Foundation (DLF) to launch “Wellbeing at Home”.
“Wellbeing at Home” will deliver tailored, practical training for housing and community staff working to promote independence. Courses will be built from the Trusted Assessor programme pioneered by DLF, and others, to deliver skills in assessment and knowledge in recommending and fitting small aids to daily living (SADLs).
