The Disabled Living Foundation (DLF) is adding to its comprehensive websites with the launch of a new Kitchen and Household Products section on its impartial advice site ‘Living made easy’™ (www.livingmadeeasy.org.uk).

DLF is the UK’s leading source of impartial information and expert advice on equipment to help older and disabled people continue to live full and independent lives and stay in their own homes for as long as possible.

As the thaw gathers pace and all the ice and snow starts melting away the Disabled Living Foundation (DLF) urges people who have sustained breaks and fractures after slipping over to consider how different gadgets might be able to help with daily tasks until they have fully recovered.

National charity the Disabled Living Foundation (DLF) congratulates the winners of this year’s “Innovation Challenge” carried out in conjunction with product design agency PDD and students from Imperial College London.
 
Based on DLF’s brief to address issues associated with access, preparation or eating of food for an ageing population, the winning team designed an innovative saucepan with improved lifting and carrying features integrated with a unique method for draining liquids.

More people are afraid of losing their independence as they grow older (49%) than of dying (29%), according to new research released today (2 December) by charity the Disabled Living Foundation (DLF).
 
When asked about the things that concern them most about getting older, over two thirds of people (68%) say losing independence or becoming dependent on others, second only to concerns about ill health (74%). Despite the current climate and pension concerns, struggling to cope financially (44%) comes in third.

DLF compiles and maintains the UK’s only comprehensive database of daily living equipment, DLF Data, which contains information on over 14,000 products from over 1,600 suppliers.
