DLF celebrates 40th year with launch of 'Living made easy'

DLF to act as the information point for Naidex 2009

The Disabled Living Foundation (DLF) is pleased to announce it will once again act as the Information Point for Naidex 2009. DLF is a national charity that provides free, impartial advice and information about all types of daily living equipment for older and disabled people and their carers.

Westminster City Guardian raises funds for DLF

Westminster City Guardian Edward Chapman is raising funds in aid of the Disabled Living Foundation (DLF), a charity based on the Harrow Road where he patrols.

Edward decided to raise funds by running the Sussex half marathon, completing 13 miles.

Edward started working as a City Guardian last September and discovered DLF whilst on his patrol. Impressed with the work that the charity does to help and provide advice to older and disabled people and their carers he decided to raise much needed funds.

Disabled Living Foundation appoints new Chief Executive

The Disabled Living Foundation is delighted to announce the appointment of Christine Shaw as its new Chief Executive.

Christine Shaw was formerly CEO of the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust, responsible for the annual National Commemoration of the victims of the Holocaust and more recent genocides. Previously, she was Acting Chief Executive, and Deputy Chief Executive, of national charity Help the Hospices. Her career has been spent in the public and not-for-profit sectors in health, education and social care.

Government and industry continue to back DLF’s plans

More leading companies in the Assistive Technology (AT) industry have come together to support the Disabled Living Foundation (DLF)’s plans to create an impartial web-based advice and information portal on community equipment. In addition, Government has announced new funding for DLF to produce a website for families with disabled children.

DLF wins place on Department of Health pilot information accreditation scheme

The Disabled Living Foundation (DLF) has been chosen by the Department of Health from over 120 applications to participate in the testing phase of a new scheme to ensure good quality information across the health and social care sector.

The information accreditation scheme will combat substantial variation in the quality of health and social care information available and will provide a way for the public and professionals to know that the information they are using is reliable.
