Disaway Trust
The Disaway Trust is a Charity that provides group holidays for Physically Disabled People. The Trust is run by a committee of volunteers and is entirely supported by voluntary help and contributions. The Trust is able to accommodate people with most kinds of physical disability aged between 16 and 80. Every applicant is required to complete a medical form and acceptance for the holiday is at the discretion of the medical officer. There will be an RGN on each holiday. Aims to make available to the public as many volunteering vacancies as possible, from one central online database. Visitors are able to enter their postcode and their requirements for volunteering and the website will be able to display information on the available organisation in their area requiring volunteers. Aims to help people with physical disabilities to train their own pet dogs. Includes training to a general standard of obedience to achieve the 'Good Companion Dog' certification, and to train the dogs to assist their owners as qualified 'Assistance Dogs'. DLF Checked.
