Below is a list of exhibitions and conferences that will take place during the coming months where visitors can view the latest daily living equipment (sometimes called disability aids or independent living products).

Some of these events are aimed at professionals only so please visit their websites for more information before deciding to attend. If an exhibition has a related website then you should be able to find a link to it from here.

National Back Exchange annual conference and exhibition

DLF is partnering with NBE for their annual three day conference and exhibition in September.

This fully residential event offers an opportunity to meet fellow professionals and exhibitors within a multidisciplinary environment. Attendees will have access to the full conference programme, including an extensive range of equipment.

The conference will feature:

  • strategic plenary
  • practical workshops
  • streamed presentations
  • equipment evaluation workshops
  • exhibitor interactive workshops. 

Delegates will include back care advisors, ergonomists, educators, suppliers of products and services, service users and researchers and innovators.

Independent Living Scotland 2017


Get Inspired at Scotland’s largest disability lifestyle and independent living event from the 4 - 5 October 2017 at the SEC, Glasgow.

The show offers inspiring and innovative products and care options for older people, those with disabilities or impairments, carers, families and healthcare professionals.

Over 100 companies will be on hand to showcase their products and services and demonstrate the impact they can have on assisting and improving independent living. From daily living aids, wheelchairs and scooters, home adaptations and telecare, energy providers and communications the show offers visitors the opportunity to try, test and compare the latest products on the market.

Independent Living Scotland has also become recognised as a key educational resource for Healthcare Professionals with a comprehensive two-day CPD accredited seminar programme running alongside the exhibition from leading figures within the health profession.

The Disabled Living Foundation is delighted to be partnering with Promoting Independence at their programme of OTAC events in 2017 and 2018.

As a national charity providing impartial advice, information and training on independent living since 1969, we are well known to occupational therapists through a number of our services and we will be on hand at each event to provide information about suitable equipment and suppliers.
