Logo of eWell-Being Awards 2008The Disabled Living Foundation (DLF) is delighted to announce that its online self assessment tool, AskSARA, was a winner in the Independent Living Category at the National eWell-Being Awards 2008.

The Awards, supported by BT and Brother, are designed to promote the tangible benefits that ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) can bring to society, the economy and to the environment.

AskSARA is an innovative way for older and disabled people and their families to obtain advice about products that can help them in their daily lives. AskSARA invites you to enter information about yourself and your environment and then, based on your answers, gives you a detailed report full of useful advice and suggestions.

Nicole Penn-Symons, Chief Executive of the DLF, says “DLF has long promoted new technologies that help create solutions for independent living. This prestigious award acknowledges that DLF remains a market leader in the field of trusted and impartial advice and information for people with temporary or longer term physical impairments. This award is not only good news for the DLF but also for the many partners who have licensed our AskSARA software”.

AskSARA is featured in a Supplement in the Independent newspaper on Tuesday 6th May. For further information about AskSARA please visit www.asksara.org.uk.
