29th January 2007

Image of screenshot of DLF Data OnlineA number of invaluable new features have been added to DLF Data, the UK's only comprehensive database of disability equipment produced by national charity the Disabled Living Foundation (DLF). These features will help users save time when looking for impartial product information and have been developed based on user feedback.

New features include:

  • A product comparison feature that allows users to compare the features of up to 4 products side-by-side
  • A product filter that enables users to narrow their searches by selecting specific features they are looking for in a product. For example, when looking for cordless telephones, users can ask the product filter to only find products that contain answerphones, visual indicators or large button keypads.
  • A discussion feature that allows users to add comments about products and thus share the knowledge and expertise of the thousands of professionals who use DLF Data. Users can discuss individual products or give them a star rating to provide feedback to other users to help them find products that are most suitable for their clients.
  • A product inventory feature that allows Disabled Living Centres and other organisations to build an inventory of the items they hold in stock
  • Hourly updates – product updates are now occurring every hour to ensure that users are kept up-to-date with the latest developments in assistive technology
  • Enhanced reporting and printing facilities to help users provide quality information to their clients

DLF Data user Guy Montague, Team Manager at The Brighton and Hove Daily Living Centre, says: “Throughout my professional career I've always used DLF Data for reference. I believe that the features that the DLF has added, especially the reports and product comparisons, have made a previously valuable tool for occupational therapists truly essential.”
