Electronic Aids for the Blind

Enable Lives
Enabled Lives is a new organisation which offers training and consultancy to those working and living with people who are vulnerable. This includes adults and children with learning disabilities or difficulties, looked-after children and others. The work centres on sexuality in terms of both rights and protection and considers the needs of staff as well as service users. It can also be adapted for other vulnerable groups including older people and those with mental health difficulties. -

Epilepsy Action

Equality and Human Rights Commission
The Equality and Human Rights Commission works to eliminate discrimination, reduce inequality, protect human rights and to build good relations, ensuring that everyone has a fair chance to participate in society. The new commission brings together the work of the three previous equality commissions (the Equal Opportunities Commission, the Commission for Racial Equality, and the Disability Rights Commission) and also takes on responsibility for the other aspects of equality: age, sexual orientation and religion or belief, as well as human rights. The Equality and Human Rights Commission acts not only for the disadvantaged, but for everyone in society, and can use its new enforcement powers where necessary to guarantee people's equality. It also has a mandate to promote understanding of the Human Rights Act. Equipment and Adaptations Monitoring Group
Setup to monitor the work done by Conwy County Borough Council Social Services Depatments and the Denbighshire/Conwy Conwy/Gwynedd Health Authorities. The social services special equipment loan store is based at Llandudno. The store is operated by the Conwy Provider Services Department and accessed by the Health and Social Services OT staff, community nurses and physiotherapists. -
Erb's Palsy Group
Offer information and support to parents of children affected by Erb's Palsy. Activities include putting parents in touch with one another, and organising annual family social days. Publish quarterly newsletter and range of fact sheets. -

The Ergonomic Society aims to educate and increase awareness among the general public, industry, health and social care staff and Government about the importance of ergonomics in everyday life. Focus on the three top French ski resorts with accessible accommodation - Tignes, La Plagne and Avoriaz. Different types of ski options are available, including Mono-sit skiing, Bi-sit skiing for those with less balance, three tracks for amputees and four tracks. -
European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel
Provide relief to people living with or at risk of pressure ulcers, in particular through research and the education of the public. The panel has produced guidelines on pressure ulcer prevention and set up a number of groups to liase with industry and facilitate further development of research guidelines. -

Ex-Services Mental Welfare Society
Provide assistance to ex-service men and women of all ranks of the services and merchant navy suffering from mental health problems due to their service career. Offer up to three weeks respite care and counselling in one of their treatment centres in Ayrshire, Shropshire and Surrey. Have a network of 12 welfare officers who visit in home or hospital and can help with war pensions and appeals. -

Trains teachers in recreational movement to music for people over 60 and less able people of all ages. Classes are held all over the country in venues such as hospitals, nursing and residential homes, special needs clubs and community centres. -
