U Can Do IT
Provide computer training for disabled people on how to use the Internet in their own homes at an affordable cost. The project arranges for qualified tutors to visit disabled people in their own homes, who check that computer equipment is up-to-date and in working order and then delivers a course of sessions. -

Promote understanding of all aspects of brain injury and provide expert input to policy makers and others through working parties and conferences, briefings to the All Parliamentary Group on acquired brain injury. -

Coordinate the network of mobility centres around the country to share the experience of assessing and advising disabled drivers. -
Unique - The Rare Chromosome Disorder Support Group
Offer support to families and individuals affected by rare chromosome disorders. Publish a newsletter three times a year. Produce a database detailing longitudinal effects of rare chromosome disorders on affected members. Provide information for people affected by rare chromosome disorders and professionals. Open Mon-Fri, 9.30am-3.15pm. -
United Kingdom Thalassaemia Society
Aims to relieve people suffering from thalassaemia; promote and co-ordinate research and educate people on the problems of thalassaemia. Offers counselling to suffers and carriers and brings together families, patients and well-wishers to exchange ideas and information. -

Universal Beneficent Society
Helps people in the UK over the age of 70, who are desperately struggling to survive on very low incomes. Provide a regular additional income guaranteed for life; emergency grants; advice, information and support through regular newsletters and volunteer visits; Christmas food hampers and cash gifts; bedding packs. -

UPDATE is Scotland's National Disability Information Service, a disability-led organisation, a company limited by guarantee and a recognised Scottish Charity. Aims to improve the quality of life for disabled people in Scotland by enabling information providers to offer accurate, up-to-date and relevant disability-related information. Provide general information and a signposting service to individuals; the main services are to member organisations and agencies throughout Scotland. These include local, regional and national voluntary sector organisations, public sector agencies. A number of Scottish independent bodies are also include in the membership. The membership services will benefit any agency that needs accurate, up-to-date disability-related information relevant to Scotland. Provide members with a wide range of disability related information, resources and support services all relevant to Scotland. Offer a range of flexible membership packages, designed to suit the particular needs of different types of organisation. -
Uphill Ski Club of Great Britain
Provide activities by using winter sports as the basis for participation. Whether people have physical, learning or sensory disabilities, the club uses skiing to help with balance, self-awareness and co-ordination. -
Urostomy Association
Aims to assist all who are about to undergo, or have undergone surgery resulting in the diversion or removal of the bladder with such information, help and advice as may be necessary with regard to appliances, work situations, marital problems and to assist them to resume as full a life as possible with every confidence. -
Uveitis Information Group
