DLF's response to the Office of Fair Trading (OFT)'s enquiry into mobility aid sales

“As the leading national information provider in this area we welcome the OFT’s decision to launch an enquiry into the sales of mobility aids. Although most retailers are reputable, there are still some companies who apply tactics such as pressure selling to often vulnerable people.

Our advice and information website ‘Living made easy’’™ (www.livingmadeasy.org.uk) helps people identify suppliers who have signed up to certain standards such as industry codes of conduct. This helps ensure customers know they are buying from a trustworthy company. ‘Living made easy’ also offers advice on how and where to make a complaint if you have been the victim of unscrupulous sellers and things to look out for when buying equipment.

With this growing market becoming increasingly important, the timing of this enquiry is extremely pertinent and is to be commended”.
